Following the first National Day for truth and Reconciliation (NDTR) on September 30, 2021, the Saskatoon Tribal Council has initiated a campaign called #ActOnReconciliation. It’s intended to harness the momentum of NDTR and Orange Shirt Day to keep Reconciliation top of mind year round. The campaign calls for action and awareness on the last Friday of each month in 2022.
To demonstrate your commitment to Reconciliation today, the city of Saskatoon is asking residents to wear an orange shirt and help build awareness online by using the hashtag #ActOnReconciliation. Also consider attending the 2022 Tony Cote First Nations Summer Games. The seven day event welcomes Nations across Saskatchewan to compete in various athletic events.
The city will be showing their support to the campaign by highlighting Reconciliation actions and activates. They will be applying an orange filter to their social media accounts as well as lighting City Hall, SaskTel Centre and the city’s prairie wind art at the Remai Modern in orange.
