The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations is calling on the provincial and federal governments to provide assistance in regards to the search for missing five-year-old Frank Young.

Frank has been missing since Tuesday, April 19th when he was last seen outside his home on the Red Earth Cree Nation.

Over that time, over 600 volunteers across 13 search crews have taken part in the efforts of locating Frank.

Bobby Cameron is the Chief of Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations.

“We want to do a call out and a request and an expectation that Prime Minister Trudeau and Premier Scott Moe to support us, send your resources, send the army, rangers, there’s a lot of fatigue that has transpired the last month.”

Monday marks day 28 in the search for missing Frank. Sunday night, vigils were held in Prince Albert and Edmonton for the missing boy.

Police don’t believe Frank was abducted.

Chief Marcel Head of the Shoal Lake Cree Nation anticipates more donations of food and money will be provided towards the search efforts in the coming days. Ha added the search won’t end until Frank is found.

Teresa Whitecap, Frank’s grandmother made a public appearance today (mon) on behalf of the family. She thanked the media, searchers and everyone who has played a role in the search efforts to date.

She also said Frank is a creative and fun loving boy.

Whitecap adds they’ll hold a feast for all of those involved in the search at Red Earth once they bring Frank home to thank those who have donated their time and assistance.
