Winter precipitation has been extremely variable in Saskatchewan as some locations have bare ground and others deal with drifting snow.
March weather statistics from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) indicate Meadow Lake had more than twice the normal amount of precipitation while Estevan only had 18 per cent of normal.

ECCC Warning Preparedness Meteorologist Terri Lang compiled snow cover data from several locations with well-above normal snow cover. The following numbers are snow cover as of March 31 with the 30-year average snow depth in brackets
Meadow Lake 45 cm (9 cm)
Prince Albert 33 cm (7 cm)
Nipawin 33 cm (13 cm)
Hudson Bay 43 cm
La Ronge 48 cm (27 cm)
Spiritwood 27cm
Island Falls 58 cm
Waskesiu 52 cm
Buffalo Narrows 67cm
March was a bit colder on average but no location was close the record setting territory.
