The Workers’ Compensation Board says 88 per cent of employers have achieved the Mission: Zero target for two years in a row now. However there were still over 22 thousand workers injured in the province last year. 27 people lost their lives in workplace incidents. CEO Peter Federko says that is unacceptable. The WCB reports that the total injury rate dropped to 5.25 per 100 workers. The time loss injury rate remained the same at 1.86 per 100 workers. Federko says, “The WCB maintains a solid financial position at year end.” He says they remained financially stable and fully funded as at last December 31st.
