The province has launched an Agent Training Program for global recruiting agents who work with post-secondary institutions, to attract international students to Saskatchewan. Advanced Education Minister Gene Makowsky explains that through the program, recruitment agents will add to their knowledge on Canadian laws and immigration, as well as the benefits of studying, living and working in the province.
It means prospective students will be more informed when choosing Saskatchewan as a destination. The Advanced Education Ministry is partnering with the Canadian Bureau for International Education to deliver the training, with up to 270 recruitment agents expected to be trained by March of 2024 through the Saskatchewan Agent Training Program.
