For individuals and families living in poverty, at risk or experiencing homelessness, CUMFI now has a converted RV which will bring housing and resource coordination directly to those in need. The Central Urban Metis Federation, Inc launched the Mobile Housing & Community Resource Centre today (Tues).
President of CUMFI, Shirley Isbister, says for years they have wanted a one-stop-shop for people to receive the help they need and this mobile centre is one way to improve access to housing and services in Saskatoon. The federal government provided just under $450,000 for this project through it’s Reaching Home Program.
The vehicle will move to different locations around Saskatoon including FreshCo Foods on 33rd Street, City Centre Church on 20th, Colliers McClocklin in the Westgate Plaza and Giant Tiger on 22nd Street.
