A world renowned pianist is performing around the world, including stops in Munich, San Francisco, Paris, and the Paris of the Prairies.
Jan Lisiecki performs at TCU Place in Saskatoon on December 9th.
Executive director of the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra, Mark Turner, says the 26 year old Canadian pianist has a long history of concerts in this city.
Lisiecki has been a concert pianist since he was seven.
Tickets are available through the symphony’s website.
Turner says so far the fall season has been successful, with no COVID-19 cases from the live performances.
He stresses they are taking the protocols very seriously.
Turner adds that having the full orchestra back on the TCU Place stage is great, but they also learned something from last year’s pandemic virtual performances.
The SSO had 130,000 people check out their virtual concerts from around the globe, so Turner says it changed the way they think about programming, and delivering the music both virtually and in person.
