Minister of Public Safety Ralph Goodale says the concerns with railways and grain shipments that led to a backlog this winter still need to be addressed. He says the railways have made mistakes in the number of crews, basic employee numbers, and the equipment made available. Goodale says he’s pleased to see an improvement in service, noting car spottings have been consistently above 5,000 for each railway. However, he notes this level of service has to be sustained, expanded, and provided to all commodities going forward. (CKRM Regina)
