Thursday’s peek at the Saskatchewan Government’s COVID-19 dashboard brought a mixed bag of good and bad statistics. New cases of the novel coronavirus were down from Wednesday’s 321 to 267. However, the seven-day average went up by 15 from Wednesday to 279. Add in 170 recoveries and the provinces active COVID-19 case count is up to 2,466, 94 more than was recorded on Wednesday. There was one new virus-related death to bring Saskatchewan’s total fatalities to 608 while the hospitalized number stayed the same as Wednesday at 134. The positive from that stat was the number of infections being treated in an I-C-U dropped to 23 today from 30 in the province on Wednesday. As for vaccinations, another 1,019 Saskatchewan residents became fully immunized on Wednesday out of a total of 1,789 shots administered.

- As of September 2nd, a total of 134 individuals are hospitalized, including 111 inpatient hospitalizations and 23 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 134 patients, 97 (72.4%) were not fully vaccinated.
- One (1) new death reported today. 608 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died, with a case fatality rate of 1.1%
- 1,030,878 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of August 31, 2021, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 867,927 tests performed per million population and was lower than the national rate of 1,068,422 tests performed per million population.
