The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to an accident just after four this afternoon on Highway 41, about a kilometre north of Highway 5. On Tuesday, there was a fatal accident in the same area, at the intersection of Highways 5 and 41.
The Fire Department reports that hydraulic cutting tools were used to extract a person out of a vehicle, which was cut open to remove the patient, who was then transferred to the ambulance on scene. The Saskatoon Police Service also responded to this accident, describing it as serious.
As of late Wednesday afternoon, the road was blocked in both directions between Llewellyn Road and Blackley Road, east of Saskatoon, and police were advising to find an alternate route.
