Lytton, British Columbia gets the honours again. After setting a new Canadian hot weather record just two days ago, Lytton was home to the latest Canadian daytime high temperature at 47.9 degrees Celsius on Monday. That broke the record set Sunday of 46.6 degrees, which in turn broke a record set 84 years ago in Saskatchewan. Weather records fell across Alberta and BC. There are heat warnings in effect for almost the entire province of Saskatchewan. Environment Canada says little to no reprieve from the heat is expected and overnight lows will remain in the mid-teens, which is something many BC communities probably wish they could experience with their daytime highs in the high thirties and forties and the overnight lows in the twenties. The heat wave is blanketing British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan and extends in to Manitoba, the Yukon and the North West Territories as well.
