The Saskatoon Fire Department was called out to a brush fire south of the city on Highway 60 around six o’clock last night (mon). The fire was heading southeast, being driven by winds gusting to 37 km/h. At first, just one home was of concern to fire crews but as the flames headed south, two others homes were potentially in its path. The fire fighters were joined by neighbours, and volunteer fire fighters from the Merrill Moon Lake area. No structures were damaged. Before it was brought under control, the fire burned across three properties and between 80 and 100 acres. That, “under control,” was declared just after eight o’clock. No one was hurt. The cause is, as yet, undetermined.
