The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency is advising the public to stay out of the Fort a la Corne forest at this time. A wildfire within the provincial forest has resulted in smoky conditions with SPSA personnel and aircraft actively working the fire. The S-P-S-A adds the active fire situation may rapidly change without warning due to extreme weather conditions.
The SaskAlert says residents in the RMs of Torch River, Paddockwood, Kinistino, Willow Creek, and the James Smith Indian Reserve should be prepared to evacuate or shelter in place if ordered, and follow the directions of local authorities. Close doors, windows and vents and take all necessary precautions.
The SPSA calls this fire the Division fire and it is just under 1,500 hectares in size.
