A new app will look to provide evidence-based information about pregnancy to women in Saskatchewan.
That according to the Saskatchewan Prevention Institute’s Temi Akintilebo, who is a perintatal and infant health coordinator. Akintilebo says The My Saskatchewan Pregnancy App required about 3 years of research and development. She says they consulted with community stakeholders and health care practitioners, as well as pregnant women in the province. The information in the app was then reviewed by an advisory committee of health care providers. So far the app has seen around 1400 downloads and includes things like daily tips, monthly summaries, and a pregnancy timeline. The app also helps to track changes in weight, blood pressure and mental health while also providing nearby local resources for programs, services and how to connect with a nurse, mental health clinician or pharmacist.
The My Saskatchewan Pregnancy App can be downloaded through the App store or Google Play Store. Visit https://skprevention.ca/my-saskatchewan-pregnancy/ for more information
