The Prince Albert Police Service says its Canine Unit successfully tracked and assisted with an arrest in connection to a stolen vehicle incident.
Around 11:50 p.m. Thursday officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle near MacArthur Drive. Police located a vehicle parked in an alley and when they attempted a traffic stop two people got out of the vehicle and fled on foot.
Officers determined the vehicle had been reported stolen so they set up a perimeter and a Police Service Dog was deployed tracking a suspect through several residential yards and alleyways.
A suspect was located hiding underneath the steps of a side entrance and was taken into custody without incident.
A 28-year-old man is facing five charges including Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime, and Failure to Comply with a Probation Order.
