Saskatchewan Agriculture’s weekly crop report estimates 97 per cent of the provincial crop was in the bin, as of Monday.
Most of what’s left tends to be late-seeded crops in east-central and southeast regions.
George Hinz from Muenster, about 120 kilometres east of Saskatoon, has just finished the 2026 harvest. He says wheat generated the best results this year
Canola was a bigger challenge with some re-seeding being done following extensive spring rain. The last canola was re-seeded on June 17th
The Saskatchewan harvest is in the final stretch, with only a small number of acres left to be combined. Producers continue to take advantage of available harvest opportunities to bring in the remaining crops and wrap up harvest activities for the season. Unfortunately, the weather is going to turn colder and wetter beginning on Friday evening. Depending on the amount of moisture, any remaining crop on the field will need to be dried.
