As of September 30, 2026, enrolment for pre-kindergarten to Grade 12 students registered with Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools is 23,203. That is 152 more students compared to the same period in the previous year and almost 6,000 more than a decade ago.
In a news release Board of Education chair, Diane Boyko said, “Facilities are important, and we will continue to work with the ministries of Education and SaskBuilds and Procurement for appropriate investment and timely construction of new schools. More important, though, is what happens in those schools, and that requires adequate, predictable and sustained funding for education.”
The last time GSCS added schools was in 2017, when six elementary schools were opened. Five new GSCS schools have been announced and are in various stages of planning: St. Pier Giorgio Frassati High School in the Holmwood development are in east Saskatoon; elementary schools in the Brighton, Aspen Ridge and Kensington neighbourhoods of Saskatoon; and a middle/high school in Corman Park between the cities of Martensville and Warman.
With 50 schools and over 23,000 students, Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools is Saskatchewan’s largest Catholic school division.
