A woman from La Ronge is facing five charges after a firearms incident in Sucker River.

On Monday at 6:20 p.m., RCMP received a report of a firearm discharge in Sucker River. The report claimed that the shot was discharged from a car in the direction of a second vehicle. No injuries occurred.

Later that evening, RCMP found a car matching the suspect vehicle’s description in Sucker River. After an unsuccessful traffic stop, officers set up a tire deflation device. A male and female exited the car and fled on foot into a treed area, and the woman was apprehended. However, the man remains at large.

Now, 36-year-old Amanda Venne is scheduled to appear in court on September 10, and officers continue to investigate, which includes working to identify and locate the outstanding male suspect.
