Security guard threatened
A Saskatoon security guard was threatened by a shoplifter on Thursday.
At 12:15 p.m., police were called to a business in the 100 block of Primrose Drive for a weapons call where it was reported that there was a male shoplifter with a knife.
Officers learned the suspect was approached by security in the parking lot after leaving the store without paying. A brief altercation began before the suspect threatened to stab the security officer, then ran away.
Police are continuing to investigate.
Attempted e-bike robbery
Three teen boys are facing charges after Saskatoon Police received a report of a robbery in Aspen Ridge.
At 7:40 p.m. on Thursday, police were called to the area of Kloppenburg Street and Kloppenburg Link for a robbery in progress. Officers were told three boys robbed a 14-year-old boy of the key to his e-bike. It was also reported that one of the males had a gun.
Through investigation, police learned the group had attempted to steal a boy’s e-bike, assaulted him, and pointed bear spray at him before running away.
Three suspects were arrested shortly after, and the handle of a cap gun was located following a search.
As a result, two males aged 15 and one 14-year-old male have been charged with Robbery. One of the 15-year-olds has also been charged with Possession of a Weapon, Disguise with Intent, and Use of an Imitation Firearm.
Teen found injured
A teenage boy was injured in the 400 block of Kingsmere Boulevard in Saskatoon early Friday morning.
At 4:15 a.m., police were called to the scene to find a 16-year-old boy with injuries consistent with an assault with a weapon.
Through further investigation, it was learned that the assault is believed to have occurred in the 3300 block of 8th Street East.
Police are continuing to investigate
