Staff at Saskatchewan Penitentiary seized contraband and unauthorized items on Thursday, Friday, and Monday.

The contraband and unauthorized items seized included methamphetamine, cocaine, THC concentrate, tobacco, a cell phone and charger, a USB card reader, and rolling papers. The total estimated institutional value of these seizures is $148,840.

The Correctional Service of Canada uses a number of tools to prevent drugs from entering its institutions. These tools include ion scanners and drug-detector dogs to search buildings, personal property, inmates, and visitors.
