Thursday night will see Saskatchewan people have the best chance to view an eclipse for the next three years.

The partial Lunar eclipse will see the moon become blacked out by the Earth’s shadow, before the moon starts to slowly reveal itself again.

Bill Archer, with the Canadian Space Agency, says people should head just outside of the city and look towards the southeast to see the eclipse.

“This is the best chance you’re going to have to see an eclipse in Saskatchewan for the next three years. The next opportunity is going to be in 2029.”

Archer says the best time to view the eclipse is from 10:00 to 10:30, when only a 10 per cent sliver of the moon is visible. The eclipse begins at about 8:30 tonight, around the same time the moon rises, and will run until about midnight.
