The largest home crowd in the three-year history of the Saskatoon Berries saw the team complete the 2026 regular season on a high with an 11-2 victory over the Moose Jaw Miller-Express Wednesday night.

The Berries lashed out 19 hits – eight of them for extra bases – as Saskatoon finished with a 38-18 record, good for second place in the East Division behind Moose Jaw’s 41-15 log. In a meaningless game, as far as the standings were concerned, both the Berries and Miller-Express rested players in key areas of their roster. Saskatoon used local newcomer Scott Broker and affiliate Reese Brons as pitchers for the first seven innings. Moose Jaw rested five key position players. Berries’ second baseman Gael Salinas banged out four hits, coming up a triple short of hitting for the cycle as the fan favourite had two singles, a double and a solo home run in front of the crowd of 2,360 at Cairns Field. So, now it’s on to the post-season, starting Friday, as the Miller-Express welcome Medicine Hat and Saskatoon hosts defending W-C-B-L-champion Regina in opening games of best-of-three East Division semi-finals.
