Violent break-in at Sandy Bay, RCMP have arrested suspect.

RCMP have arrested a 36-year-old man following an aggravated assault in the northern community of Sandy Bay early last Thursday morning.

An injured man was found at a residence and transported to hospital with serious injuries. An RCMP investigation determined the suspect forcibly entered the residence and later left the property.

Eric Scott Merasty from Sandy Bay has been charged with attempted murder without a firearm, aggravated assault, as well as break and enter.

A warrant has been issued for Merasty’s arrest and he was arrested on Wednesday.

Sandy Bay is located about 600 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.
