A dog is in Regina Police custody after attacking another dog and a child.
On Wednesday 8:00 p.m., police were patrolling in the area of 6th Avenue when they were flagged down by two children who told police they had been attacked by a dog. One of the children, just nine years old, had a visible wound on his face. The children also reported they saw the dog attack another dog in a nearby yard.
EMS attended and took the victim to hospital where he was treated for his non-life-threatening injuries.
Animal Protection officers and police found the dog at a home nearby.
At this time, the dog is in the custody of Animal Protection. As per regular practice, Animal Protection has assumed the lead on this investigation and the Regina Police Service will assist as required.
