There was a fire in an apartment building Tuesday night in the 200 block of Avenue V South.
The call came in at 11:10 p.m. and fire crews could see heavy smoke and flames coming from a 3rd floor balcony.
Ladders were set up to rescue occupants and their pet from an adjacent balcony.
Fire crews forced entry into multiple areas of building to confirm no other occupants or pets remained inside.
No one was hurt and the fire has been completely extinguished.
A fire investigator is working to determine the cause, origin and a damage estimate.
