In light of the homeless shelter on 31st Street East being slated for completion in spring of 2027, City Administration has received a service extension request at the temporary location at 210 Pacific Avenue.
The extension would allow services to continue from September 30th until May 31, 2027, which the City says should allow sufficient time to complete construction and transition operations to the new location.
City Council can approve the recommended length of time or put forward a motion for an alternate period between 1 and 18 months, however, an approval for any shorter period could result in a reduction of 40 shelter beds available in Saskatoon.
Should City Council approve, The Mustard Seed will continue to operate as the Government of Saskatchewan’s service provider for this location.
