Both the victim and the suspect have been charged and arrested in a recent vehicle theft investigation in Saskatoon.
On Sunday at 6:55 p.m., police received a report of a stolen vehicle. It was located two hours later at the intersection of 22nd Street and Idylwyld Drive North, and as police were attempting a high risk traffic stop, the vehicle’s owner also arrived on scene and attempted to remove the driver from the vehicle.
The driver then began to flee in the vehicle; nearly striking a police officer before driving through a red traffic light and striking another vehicle in the area of 22nd Street and 1st Avenue. The driver who was hit was taken to hospital by paramedics.
The 27-year-old driver of the stolen vehicle started to run away on foot but was tased by police and arrested.
The 27-year-old female owner of the vehicle was arrested at the scene and charged with Obstruction. Police say both the man and woman involved in this incident are believed to be known to one another.
