SaskTel services for Whitecap Dakota First Nation and surrounding communities have been restored after crews found multiple cable cuts in the area.
SaskTel says Internet, Wireless, and Landline services in and around Whitecap Dakota First Nation, Pike Lake, and Gledhow were out for several hours Wednesday evening. An outage update says the cable cuts were caused by unrelated contractor work.
By 10:00 p.m., construction crews were able to repair all fiber cuts in the area, and all services were restored.
SaskTel says, “Outages like this serve as a reminder of the importance of requesting line locates and strictly following them before underground work begins to prevent infrastructure damage and communication service disruptions.”
