A 36-year-old man from Cumberland House has been charged with arson after someone was seriously injured in a residential fire.
On Tuesday at 10:40 p.m., RCMP received a report of a fire at a home in Cumberland House. Investigation determined that five adults were in the home at the time of the fire, four of which were assessed at the scene by EMS.
The fifth adult was taken to hospital by EMS with serious injuries, and the home was destroyed by the fire. Police believe the fire is suspicious in nature, and they have charged Justin Sewap with four counts of arson with disregard for human life, as well as four counts of attempted murder.
Sewap is scheduled to appear in court in Nipawin on Thursday.
