A 30-year old-woman has been charged with assault after an RCMP cruiser was hit near Nipawin last Friday night.
RCMP received a report of a theft in Choiceland around 8:30pm. A person left a business with unpaid merchandise and drove away in an SUV.
A vehicle matching the SUV description was seen in the White Fox area, but the driver fled from police at a high rate of speed. The SUV was eventually located approaching Nipawin on Highway 35, west of the bridge. The SUV struck the parked RCMP cruiser, colliding with the passenger side.
Three people inside the SUV were arrested at the scene. No one was injured. Thirty-year-old Alyssa Natewayes from Sandy Bay is charged with flight from a police officer, assault, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and failing to comply with release order conditions.
Charges are pending against one of the passengers, while the third person was not charged.
