Season Four of Guardians of the North got underway last month.
It is created in partnership with Wavelength Entertainment and follows wildland firefighters and support staff in Saskatchewan’s Indigenous and northern communities as they fight wildfires.
In a news release the Saskatchewan government says the magnitude of the 2025 wildfire season, which had saw more than 500 wildfires in the province burn 2.9 million hectares, is captured in the docuseries.
Most of the homes in Denare Beach burned to the ground due to wildfires last year and the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency says it is aware that some of the episode may be emotional for viewers to watch and that the SPSA is working closely with Wavelength Entertainment to “ensure each episode is respecful of the stories being told.”
