The initial bear spraying occurred around 7:15pm Monday on the 1700 block of 22nd Street West.
There was a report of a man who had discharged bear spray at three people before fleeing the scene on a bicycle. Officers located a man matching the suspect’s description in the 100 block of Avenue Q South where he was arrested without incident.
Police were not able to find the victims of the bear spray incident. A 31-year-old man has been charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon, and breaching court-imposed conditions.
The second bear spraying happened around 1:30am Tuesday in the area of 20th Street West and Avenue H South. There was a report of a robbery in progress and initial information indicated a man demanded money and used the bear spray on the victim. The suspect, a 17-year-old male youth was arrested without incident. The charges include robbery unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon, and breaching court-imposed conditions.
The final incident was a robbery at a business in the 1600 block of 33rd Street West around 7:30pm Monday. Eyewitnesses report a man with a knife took some merchandise and left the business. Officers arrested a man walking through the park in the 1300 block of Faulkner Crescent later in the evening. The 18-year-old is charged with robbery and carrying a weapon for the purpose of committing an offense.
