The Saskatoon Police Service is investigating a couple of bear spray incidents from the weekend starting with Friday evening around 9:45 p.m. when an injured person call came in from the 800 block of Northumberland Avenue.
Police found the man suffering from the effects of bear spray when they arrived and learned that the victim was approached by two males who asked for money and a cigarette before one of them allegedly discharged bear spray at the victim and fled on foot.
In the second incident, shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday, an injured person call sent officers to a business in the 1300 block of 22nd Street West. The initial report said a woman was bear sprayed outside the store.
Police found a 24-year-old woman, who had been bear sprayed and was said to know who her attacker was. Anyone with information on either incident is asked to contact the S-P-S or Crime Stoppers.
