Over 1000 representatives from Saskatchewan’s cities, towns, villages, resort villages, and northern municipalities have gathered the 2026 SUMA Convention and Tradeshow at the REAL District in Regina from Sunday until April 15th.
As the main event of the year, SUMA CEO Jen-Marc Nadeau says there will be a variety of speakers and learning opportunities for those attending.
“We provide opportunities for keynote speakers, of course the Premier will be speaking. One of the very important components of our convention is our bear pit and dialogues with Ministers on Wednesday morning. All in all, it will be an exciting three days.”
Nadeau says the convention gives representatives the chance to connect with one another and provide knowledge that could improve communities.
“The opportunity that brings 1000 people to one location, 1000 elected officials, where they can sit down and mingle amongst each other, learn from each other. There are issues that are similar from one community to the next, but the approach might be a little different, solution might be a little different but can be be adapted. This opportunity of our convention is where those types of knowledge sharing, and knowledge transfer can occur.”
Along with speakers and a bear pit, there will also be a tradeshow at the convention.
