The attachments for these steam cleaners can detach unexpectedly and expel hot water or steam onto users during use.

As of March 19, 2026, the company has received 1 report of hot water or steam unexpectedly escaping from the attachments in Canada, resulting in 1 reported burn injury. In the United States, the company has received 205 reports of hot water or steam unexpectedly escaping from the attachments, including 160 reports of burn injuries.

People are asked to immediately stop using the attachements and contact Bissell to receive free new attachments.
