A woman who appears to have survived a car accident where the vehicle ended up off the road, was then hit by another vehicle after making her way back to the roadway.
Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP responded to an accident between a vehicle and pedestrian around 1:30 a.m. last Saturday on Highway #10 west of Edgeley.
The female who was on the road was declared deceased at the scene by EMS. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
Later that morning, officers located a damaged vehicle on a nearby slough. A deceased male was inside. RCMP believe the vehicle had left the roadway and had rolled. Further investigation determined the male and the female had been travelling in the vehicle together. The two 20-year-olds are both from Yorkton.
This rollover is not believed to be connected to the initial collision reported to police. Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP continue to investigate the incident with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist, and in consultation with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.
