Saskatchewan RCMP are investigating a deadly crash on Highway 39 after a vehicle fleeing an Estevan Police traffic stop collided with another car Friday night, about 16 kilometres southeast of Weyburn.

A 46-year-old man from Estevan and a 40-year-old woman from Lampman died at the scene, while the truck driver was seriously injured and transported by STARS to hospital.

The RCMP say the truck had been speeding when officers tried to pull it over. The Serious Incident Response Team has been notified. RCMP’s Serious Crimes Unit, along with a collision reconstructionist and the Office of the Chief Coroner are continuing their investigation and will provide updates as they become available.
