A 31-year-old man from Kelliher is facing 24 charges in relation to a kidnapping, forcible confinement, and assault.
On March 19 at 8:45 p.m., Punnichy RCMP received a report of a kidnapping with a firearm in Kelliher.
Officers say a man was sitting in a parked vehicle outside a business when another man walked up to the vehicle pointing a firearm.
The suspect then threatened the man and entered the vehicle, ordering the victim to drive.
The driver drove to a home on George Gordon First Nation, and when parked, a male and female approached the vehicle to assist him. This caused the suspect to break one of the vehicle’s windows and spray the would-be rescuers with bear mace.
RCMP arrived and arrested the suspect. A search of the vehicle produced a sawed-off firearm, ammunition, two cans of bear mace, a machete, a baton, 36 grams of methamphetamine, 24 grams of fentanyl, and 6 grams of psilocybin.
Now, Adrian Frank from Kelliher faces 24 charges and was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday. The investigation continues.
