Shooting victim dies
The Prince Albert Police Service says a 57-year-old man who was shot last June, died in hospital last Wednesday.
The shooting took place June 5, 2025, in the 1900 block of 13th Street West.
Prince Albert Police say an autopsy was conducted on Thursday and that the investigation continues with the Prince Albert Police Service Major Crimes Unit and the Office of the Chief Coroner
In July last year a 24-year-old man was arrested and Preston Bird at that time was charged with aggravated assault, breaching a conditional sentence as well as numerous firearm related charges.
Assault and Robbery
Saturday afternoon Prince Albert Police responded to a report of a woman being assaulted and robbed.
The call came in shortly after 3 p.m. and officers determined the report was connected to a home in the 500 block of 13th Street East.
The victim was located and received medical attention from Parkland Ambulance. The police set up a containment around the home which is when two men fled the residence and were quickly arrested.
Police say the investigation indicated the woman had been forcibly confined, was assaulted with weapons and that there were firearms inside the home.
Officers surrounded the home and called on those inside to exit voluntarily, which police say – they did.
A search warrant was executed, and police seized a firearm, ammunition and other weapons.
In total, four individuals were arrested in connection with this investigation with one man charged with Robbery, Assault, Unlawful Confinement, and possession of a weapon while prohibited. He is in court Monday. Prince Albert Police Service says the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
Forcible Confinement
On Sunday afternoon shortly before 3:30 p.m. Prince Albert Police Service dispatched officers to a suspicious person report in the area of Knox Place..
Police located a male victim in the area who provided information that he was assaulted and held against his will in an apartment in the 1000 block of Branion Drive, and a firearm was involved.
The apartment was identified and three individuals were arrested by Patrol members. A modified firearm and ammunition were also recovered.
One adult male is in Prince Albert Provincial Court Monday to face a total of 14 charges including assault with a weapon, forcible confinement and numerous firearm related charges.
