Over the course of two nights on the weekend Corman Park Police Service seized two vehicles for exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 kilometres per hour.
The first incident involved a Class 5 Novice 2 driver who police say was clocked driving 169 kilometres per hour in a 90 kilometre per hour zone. In addition to their vehicle being impounded for 30 days, they lost their license for seven days and was issued a speeding ticket for $1,123.
Meanwhile on the second night a vehicle was stopped for driving 155 km/hr in a 90 km/hr zone. The driver, who had a Class 7 Learner License was issued a $966 fine. Their vehicle was also impounded for 30 days, and they too received a seven-day license suspension. The second vehicle, according to CPPS, had four other youth passengers recording the events as they were passing another vehicle on a wet highway.
