Four people sent to hospital after accident on the Yellowhead

Around 9 p.m. Thursday Maidstone RCMP along with Fire, EMS and STARS, responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway #16 west of Paynton.

The driver and sole occupant of a truck was taken to hospital by EMS with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to hospital by EMS with serious injuries while a teenage passenger, also with serious injuries, was taken to hospital by STARS and a second passenger was taken by EMS to hospital for further assessment.

The eastbound lanes of Highway #16 were closed for multiple hours but have since been reopened.

Maidstone RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
