Shortly before 11 p.m. on Tuesday patrol officers with the Saskatoon Police Service responded after receiving a report of a man with bear spray and a machete in the 2400 block of 22nd Street West.
Police located a man matching the description they were given in the 100 block of Witney Avenue South.
Officers took him into custody and say he was in possession of bear spray, a baseball bat, a sharp-edged weapon, two pry bars, a hammer, and multiple identity documents.
A 39-year-old man is charged with three counts each of Possession of a Dangerous Weapon and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. He is also facing a charge of Possession of Break and Enter Tools, and Possession of Identity Documents.
In addition, police say the suspect was found to be breaching court-imposed conditions and had two warrants for his arrest.
Meanwhile about an hour and a half later the Saskatoon Police Service says its officers were attempting to pull over a pick-up truck around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday at 22nd Street and Confederation Drive but the vehicle sped off.
The Air Support Unit engaged and located the suspect vehicle leaving city limits. The Saskatchewan RCMP pitched in and deployed a tire deflation device near Maymont. At that time the suspect was taken into custody.
A 53-year-old man was transported back to Saskatoon and the Saskatoon Police Service has charged him with Evade Police. As well, they say he was found to have several outstanding warrants.
