The Premier was the one asking the questions in the Legislature Monday during an unusual role reversal.
Scott Moe repeatedly asked NDP Leader Carla Beck to remove her Chief of Staff and newly appointed Campaign Director, Jeremy Nolais, after he sent out a rather strongly worded email to party members.
As Moe read in the House, the email stated, ‘Take a moment and think of the faces of all of the ones you hate so much.’ It proceeded to list the names of the Premier, Tim McLeod, Jeremy Harrison, and Jeremy Cockrill.
“The leader of the NDP’s Opposition’s Chief of Staff was just appointed Campaign Director late last week, and his first order of business was to elevate hate against fathers, husbands, and individuals who are serving this province,” Moe accused.
He called the message sick, explaining that in today’s political climate, promoting hatred is careless and dangerous.
The Premier called on Beck to fire Nolais, to which she responded that Moe is just as guilty of putting targets on people’s backs. She accused him of inciting hate against Saskatchewan’s vulnerable people via recent tax hikes at SaskPower, SGI, the SLGA, and the Ministry of Environment regarding hunting and fishing.
