Two men have been charged by the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit following a homicide that took place on March 13th in North Battleford.
At around 7:45 am, Battlefords RCMP received the report of an injured man in a business parking lot off the Highway #16 Bypass. Officers immediately responded and the man was declared deceased at the scene by EMS.
The victim was identified as a 30-year-old man from North Battleford and his family has been notified.
Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit took carriage of the investigation and two men who were arrested at the business were charged in relation to the man’s death.
Further investigation found that one of the men allegedly pointed a firearm at another person in the business and the two men allegedly confined the individual to a room at the business. The victim in that incident was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
19-year-olds Kojac Adams and Garren Baptiste of North Battleford are facing one charge each of manslaughter and forcible confinement, with Adams also facing charges of assault with a weapon and pointing a firearm.
The two men are scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court tomorrow.
