A 36-year-old woman from Prince Albert is dead following a two-vehicle collision Tuesday morning near Smeaton.
A Saskatchewan rCMP news release said the Nipawin detachment received a report at about 8:30 a.m. on March 10th of a two-vehicle collision on Highway #106, about 40 kilometres north of Smeaton. Attending officers determined an SUV and a tractor-trailer unit collided with a passenger in the SUV declared deceased by local EMS at the scene. The family of the 36-year-old deceased woman has been notified. A second passenger in the SUV was taken to hospital by STArS with injuries described as non-life-threatening. In addition, the driver and a third passenger in the SUV were taken to hospital by EMS with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer unit did not report physical injuries to police. Nipawin rCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan rCMP collision reconstructionist.
