Chase Wutzke of Debden, Saskatchewan did his best to be a difference maker for the Moose Jaw Warriors tonight, but the Bridge City Bunch found a way to add and hang on to the lead in a 5-2 win, one of their best efforts of the season. Three of the goals for Saskatoon came off the stick of Moose Jaw product Rowan Calvert, who put together a hat-trick performance against the Warriors for the second time this season, scoring eight goals in the season series. Calvert opened up the scoring on the power-play almost five minutes into the first period with the Blades directing 20 shots towards Chase Wutzke, while Evan Gardner only faced three shots and a game total of 16. The teams traded goals in the second period, first a beautiful individual effort by Cooper Williams responded by Moose Jaw just 39 seconds later, a power-play goal from Aiden Ziprick to cut the lead in half. Elias Pul scored his tenth of season, seventh with Saskatoon late in the period to extend the lead to 3-1 before another quick response, this time 42 seconds later with Pavel McKenzie cutting the deficit to one-goal again. Pressing again in the third period, Rowan Calvert scored a much needed insurance goal on the power-play and then into an empty-net 33 seconds later to seal his hat-trick and the game 5-2 in front of 4,843 fans. The Bridge City Bunch have won two games in a row and will get one week of rest before their next action on Friday, March 13th when they welcome Swift Current to begin a home-and-home weekend with the Broncos.
