It’s my Parting Shot for an odd day to do some answers to questions posed on the T-S-N website…..
First question…Are Flames finally going through rebuild? Answer…trading off rasmus Andersson and, most recently, Mackenzie Weegar from their defensive corps would indicate a start towards a rebuild for Calgary. I won’t fully commit to that until I see G-M Craig Conroy pull the trigger on a deal involving Nazem Kadri!
Second question…Who needs Bobrovsky more – Canadiens or Oilers? My answer – I would prefer to say neither because, as someone that detests both teams, I would like them to fall short of whatever their stated goal is. If I was to answer objectively, I’d still have a hard time picking one or the other because, both, Edmonton and Montreal are in desperate need of an upgrade between the pipes should the Oilers want to finally break through and win a title and for the Habs to get back into the playoffs!
Next question…How many deals will be made on N-H-L Trade Deadline Day? Answer…assuming they all don’t happen today, I would say that the T-S-N over/under betting line of 18-and-a-half transactions will be surpassed! That’s because, with two-time defending Stanley Cup-champion Florida going to be out of the playoffs and two-time runners-up Edmonton floundering and flailing about with their consistency of effort, it’s wide open for anyone to win this year’s N-H-L Championship! Let the insanity of tomorrow be really good!!
Last question…What would a successful trade deadline look like for the Maple Leafs? My answer…is something that can’t happen because of No Movement Clauses in their contracts, but if G-M Brad Treliving can somehow get more of the, so-called, “Core Four” players to be trade for draft picks and prospects and change up the culture in Toronto – that’s the only way it’s a successful deadline. Too bad for Treliving, the Leafs and their fans, that isn’t going to happen!!
That’s my Parting Shot. I’m Les Lazaruk…and it turned out nice again!
