Prince Albert Police say one man has been charged with aggravated assault in connection to a stabbing that occurred in the Cornerstone area of Prince Albert on Wednesday afternoon.

At approximately 4:20 p.m. officers responded to a business in the 800 block of 15th Street East for a report of a male who had been stabbed.

The victim was located with serious injuries and transported to the Victoria Hospital by Parkland Ambulance

Armed with a suspect description, officers patrolling the area were able to track down a suspect shortly after.

In a news release, the Prince Albert Police Service says police located a box cutter knife when they searched the suspect.

The 46-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault and is scheduled to make his first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court Thursday morning.
