The Saskatoon Police Service says their officers were called to a hotel in the 1300 block of 8th Street East around 10:30 p.m. Monday after a 22-year-old woman reported that a man had stolen her 2014 Dodge Charger and fled the scene.
Officers located the car driving in the area and tried to pull it over, but the driver wouldn’t stop. A tire deflation device brought the vehicle to a half near Jackson Avenue and Taylor Street.
The canine unit apprehended a suspect who tried to flee on foot.
A 23-year-old suspect who suffered minor injuries from a dog bite is facing charges of Evade Police, Dangerous Driving, Impersonation and three counts of breaching court conditions.
Police allege the woman who called and reported the vehicle stolen was found to be providing false information to officers and faces a charge of mischief.
