Around 9:00 p.m. Monday police were called to the 200 block of Betts Avenue where they say two women had been acting suspiciously and were believed to be trying to shoplift when they were approached by a loss prevention officer. That’s when one of them bear sprayed the 43-year-old LPO and fled.

They didn’t successfully take any items and the LPO was treated for being exposed to bear spray.
